Tired eyes and tear trough
Do your eyes look tired?
If you get enough sleep (at least 7 hours a day) and in the morning your eyes look tired and not rested, there may be several reasons:
- puffiness
- retraction of the nasolacrimal sulcus
- pigmentation of the skin around the eyes
- pathology of the urinary system
Aesthetic causes
Water and electrolyte balance and stagnation
Puffiness of the skin under the eyes can be associated with a violation of the water-electrolyte balance and fluid retention in the body. It is recommended to consult a doctor. From cosmetic procedures, lymphatic drainage massage and microcurrents will help (improve lymph outflow), and at home it is recommended to replace the pillow with a higher one, as well as cold compresses on the eyes with tea bags.
Nasolacrimal groove
One of the causes of dark circles under the eyes is a pronounced nasolacrimal groove. This is the area of skin between the nose and the eyelid. It can be anatomical or develop with age. The result is more shadow and a darker area around the eyes. Eyes look tired.
Filling the nasolacrimal sulcus with hyaluronic acid can quickly get rid of this problem. The procedure takes 30-40 minutes. The effect lasts 12-18 months. (More in the section Injections)
Increased pigmentation
The increased pigmentation of the skin around the eyes also makes the eyes look tired. This can be a genetic trait where the pigment is deposited heavily in the skin. Another reason may be a large number of blood vessels in the skin, which leads to the deposition of hemosiderin in the skin.
Hemosiderin is an iron compound that is poorly removed from the skin. For this purpose, special creams are used that remove insoluble iron salts from the skin.
Another, faster method of removing pigmentation under the eyes is photorejuvenation, which, thanks to a powerful flash of light, destroys the pigment. Within 10-14 days, the skin around the eyes will noticeably brighten.
General guidelines
- moisturize the skin around the eyes with a cream
- sleep more
- replace the pillow with a higher one
